Assorted Aesthetics

An ever-expanding collection of other aesthetic works I’ve created.

Our Melting Planet

I was eight when I first heard of global warming and climate change. It was a weird concept to me at the time, the idea that humans had the power to massively alter the very climate of Earth like some unwitting puppet masters. It seemed fantastical and I didn't take it seriously. But now, many years later, with far more knowledge, experience, and common sense, I know that climate change is one of the biggest issues of our time and one of the hardest obstacles humanity will have to face. People often say "save the Earth." But Earth, in all its molten rock and mineral mass, is not the one in grave danger. It is life on earth and the way of life we have right now that's in danger. We can see it in the hundreds of animal and plant species that go extinct every single day. We can see it in the streets of Miami, Jakarta, and Lagos as floods become more frequent and severe. Hundreds of cities will join them as partially underwater or underwater areas that could be unlivable by 2100. We can see it in the natural disaster events that seem to happen more frequently and more severely around the globe, destroying our infrastructure and environment. We are the ones in danger. ⁣⁣

This is the only world we have for the foreseeable future. It's time for us to fight for our world. It's time for us to fight for ourselves. ⁣⁣

Qinni’s Stars

I first discovered Qinni 5 years ago on DeviantArt, and she would quickly become one of my favorite artists and biggest inspirations. She was an artist who created visual wonders filled with blue galaxies, glowing goldfishes, and emotional messages. A fighter who persevered through multiple open heart surgeries. A beautiful soul who inspired millions of people across the world with her heartfelt, magical art and unwavering upbeat attitude. Her passing, so sudden and so soon, has been absolutely heartbreaking. ⁣

Rest in peace, Qinni. Thank you for sharing your light with the world, the light you brought from the hundreds of stars you painted, from the thousands of imaginations you ignited, from the vibrance of your presence. You will be missed dearly. ♡⁣

Ocean Eyes

I've been watchin' you for some time⁣
Can't stop starin' at those ocean eyes⁣
Burning cities and napalm skies⁣
Fifteen flares inside those ocean eyes
Your ocean eyes⁣
No fair⁣
You really know how to make me cry⁣
When you give me those ocean eyes⁣
I'm scared⁣
I've never fallen from quite this high⁣
Fallin' into your ocean eyes⁣
Those ocean eyes⁣

Blossoming Melody

Music has always been a huge part of my life, from when I was toddler crawling on carpeted floors to the much older me I see in the reflection nowadays. For over a decade of my life, the piano was a daily companion I would revisit again and again, hitting black and white keys in constant repetition to produce something that would hopefully move the people who would one day listen to my music. It's been a few years since I've touched a piano now, so when I saw the anime Your Lie in April, it reminded me of that childhood love of playing instruments and creating music. Regardless of where we live or grew up, music is universally understandable. In our little corners of the world we each exist in, so often silent and disparate and alone, music is one of the things that can reach and connect us all. ⁣

Galarian Ponyta

I grew up with Pokémon, and Ponyta was always one of my favorites. And the newest iteration of Ponyta is the cutest yet! It reminded me of all the adventures I used to imagine with my Pokémon back when I was a young girl and needed a little escape from the tedium of reality, so I had to pay tribute to one of my favorite characters with this piece. Here's to all the little characters that grew up with us all. ♡ ⁣⁣
